China gave Kazakhstan a special partner status

This year, the PRC granted Kazakhstan a special status as a partner of the China's import exhibition, where Kazakhstan last year took an active part in agricultural products. This year Kazakhstan takes part in the exhibition with a wider range. The Deputy Minister of Commerce of the PRC, Qian Kemin, said this at a meeting with the Vice-Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Zhaslan Madiyev, on July 4 this year in Nur-Sultan.

During the negotiations, considerable attention was given to digitalization and technological modernization of the economy, deepening and stimulating mutually beneficial supplies of goods and services, expanding the range of export goods, implementing new joint projects, and effectively linking the New Economic Policy Nurly Zhol from the Silk Road Economic Belt initiative. .

The Chinese side commended the historical role of the First President of Kazakhstan - Elbasa Nursultan Nazarbayev in establishing a comprehensive Kazakhstan-China partnership for the joint construction of the “Belt and Way” initiative.

Zhaslan Madiev, welcoming the participants of the meeting, noted that China is one of the largest trade and economic partners of Kazakhstan.

In recent years, the volume of trade between our countries has increased significantly.

Recall that the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China in January-May 2019 amounted to 5.6 billion US dollars, which is 29.7% higher than the same period of the previous year (4.3 billion US dollars).

Exports from Kazakhstan to China in January-May 2019 increased by 45.5% and amounted to $ 3.3 billion.

In January-May 2019, imports to Kazakhstan from China increased by 11.8% and amounted to $ 2.3 billion.

“I am confident that our negotiations will give a new impetus to mutually beneficial cooperation between Kazakhstan and China. Our country has always attached great importance to strengthening and building up bilateral economic ties, ”the Vice Minister stressed.

“All changes and innovations in Kazakhstan are aimed at ensuring intra-state stability in the republic, which will contribute to strengthening Kazakh-Chinese relations and expanding the prospects for interaction between the two countries,” Madiev concluded.
