On July 16, 2019, the first Voluntary National Review of Kazakhstan will be presented in New York City as part of the High Level Political Forum on the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. This year the reviews come from 48 countries.
The theme of the Forum is dedicated to empowering people and ensuring their inclusion and equality. The focus will be on six thematic objectives: SDG 4 “Quality Education”, SDG 8 “Decent Work and Economic Growth”, SDG 10 “Reducing Inequality”, SDG 13 “Fighting Climate Change”, SDG 16 “Peace, Justice and Effective institutions ”, SDG 17“ Partnership for Sustainable Development ”.
Public authorities, non-governmental organizations, as well as independent experts and international organizations were involved in the preparation of the Survey.
Reference: Forum is held annually. In 2018, over a thousand representatives of governments, the private sector and civil society took part in the Forum.
They discussed the practical implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals based on the Secretary-General’s annual report. Last year 46 countries submitted reviews.
Following the results, the Forum participants adopted the Declaration. The document was approved by 164 countries. The Declaration expresses support for countries that are making efforts to implement the Sustainable Development Goals.
