Astana, December 21 - MNE RK. Minister of National Economy Timur Suleimenov on Thursday signed a protocol on the extension of the Framework Agreement on Partnership between the Government of Kazakhstan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on strengthening cooperation.
The framework agreement on partnership between Kazakhstan and the EBRD on strengthening cooperation aimed at promoting sustainable development of our country was signed on the initiative of the Head of State on May 23, 2014. It expires on December 31, 2017.
In order to continue cooperation to promote the diversification and modernization of the economy of Kazakhstan by attracting investments in non-primary sectors of the economy, developing the financial sector and private entrepreneurship, improving public services and measures to ensure sustainable regional development, Kazakhstan and the EBRD decided to extend the Framework Partnership Agreement by December 31 2020. The corresponding protocol was signed by the Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan Timur Suleimenov in Astana on Thursday.
Joint projects with the EBRD under the framework agreement are aimed at supporting SMEs, building and reconstruction of roads, modernization of housing and communal services, development of agricultural infrastructure and green economy, and social modernization.
